I watched the "State of the Union address".
When I say I watched it, I mean I didn't turn the sound up.
After so many years of painting I am conditioned to look,
and listen inwardly(where truth rises) to get the full view,
of what's in front of me.
I saw a lot of things........ missing!
I didn't see any tears for those that had suffered,
at the hands of the smiling faces I saw,
I didn't see the dark cape of deception anywhere highlighted,
I didn't see the cringing that one might expect to see,
I didn't see a child's face with an arm missing,
I didn't see the father drawing his last breath in chared wreckage,
I didn't see anyone dooped into a loan they should never had made,
I saw no homeless families,
No I didn't see any of those things,
I assume that since I didn't see any of those things,
I'm suppose to think the state of the union is good!
If what I was looking at were a painting and I could just turn it off,
I would,
And since it wasn't a painting,
I did!
